New Jerusalem Church Of God In Christ, Pastor

In 1990, Elder, Dr. Andrew Friday Sr. was appointed pastor of the New Jerusalem Church of God in Christ. He is a visionary leader that remains steadfast in keeping with the doctrine of the church.  He never compromises the essence of the gospel of Jesus Christ and the message of salvation for the lost.  In an effort to strengthen communication through the word of God,  he added (10) additional rooms to the church which made the Church Services more accessible for the rapid growth and continued Biblical Studies,  Ordination Examination Training, and Church Conferences.  At every church he shares the church motto by preaching “A Mind Changing Holy Word.”

The City of Jackson bestowed the highest honor given to a church in 2011, by Councilman Kenneth Stokes awarding him the Pastor of the Year.  He also received the Martin Luther King Jr. Medal from the City of Jackson-former Mayor Harvey Johnson Jr.  His contributions are numerous when it comes to lost souls.  He personally finances the meals for the Billy Brumfield House-Shelter for Men, over (6) years of contributions.  Oakley Training School, Survivors (Special Prayer Service), for Breast Cancer, Jackson Public Schools Summer Reading Program, Hurricane Disaster Relief Supplies, and Mothers against Drunk Drivers.

A leader that believes in the whole man and family values.  His wife First lady Veronica Friday (Lady V), works by his side in the ministry by teaching the Adult Women’s Sunday School Class, Home In Foreign Missions, Community Outreach, and SWAT Team member.  His son’s share their fathers love for the church and Christ and are devoted Elders in the church.

This outstanding vision was featured on WLBT-Channel 16 Sundays Best Spotlight during the month of December, 2013.  The word of God has led Pastor Friday minister with (7) Sunday Services which include the following:  Early Morning Glory Services reach individuals of all gender within the City of Jackson, Sunday Community Outreach Breakfast, Sunday School,  Sunday Overview,

Mid-day Service, YPWW, and Sunday Evening Gospel Preaching.

His pastoral teaching includes Marriage and Single Ministries Seminars, Soul Winning Crusades, (35) Prayer Warriors Ministry, The Power of the Hour Prayer-6pm weekdays , New Jerusalem Sunday School Manual, Sunday School Overview-Insight, Gospel Explosion, Sacred Ceremonies Services, Transportation Ministry, Sunshine Choir, Youth Choir, Male Choir, Sanctuary Choir, Women’s Choir, Praise Team, New Members Orientation, Missionary Department, Elders Board, Public Relations/Community Outreach Services, Watch Care Ministry, Early Morning Glory Community Breakfast,   Education Graduation Ministry and newest ministry-Soul Winning Across Town (SWAT)  -96-Team Members.

His certificate of appointments with the Mississippi Southern First Jurisdiction include; President of the Ordination Board, Special Projects, District AIMS Chairman, and District One Sunday School Superintendent.
