Pastor Jean-Yvio Medena is the son of a Church of God preacher/farmer. He was born in Les Cayes, the third largest city in Haiti. He accepted Christ as his personal Savior at the age of 14 on April 14, 1970. At 17, he started to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ with boldness under the power of the Holy Spirit. Since then, he has dedicated himself to preach the good news about Jesus for the growth of the kingdom of God.
Pastor Yvio loves theology, technology and science. In 1985, he graduated in industrial and residential electricity from Centre Technique de Saint Gerard in Port-Au-Prince. He attended Bolosse Baptist Seminary for 2 years and studied with the Church of God for 4 years. After his studies, he became a teacher at Christian Institute of Sloe in Port-Au-Prince and taught there for 8 years.
Pastor Jean-Yvio Medena continued his education with the Sure Foundation Bible College in Florida for 2 years before pursuing the call of God for his life. In 2004, God called Pastor Yvio to shepherd Good Samaritan Haitian Alliance Church in Kennesaw/Marietta. He married his lovely wife Jacqueline on October 21st, 1989 and they have been blessed with four beautiful children: Yveline, Jonathan, Jephthe, and Jephry. They trust that God will continue to bless their ministry and do extraordinary wonders in their lives.
