Pastor Matthew L. Brown is a native of Buffalo, New York. He is an anointed teacher, exceptional administrator, author and gifted motivational speaker. In 2011, he was appointed as the Senior Pastor of Greater Community Church of God in Christ (GCC) where he reinvigorated the church and focused on “Bringing Kingdom to Community.” Our pastor’s passion is to create a modern 21st century Acts Chapter 2 church with a missional focus deeply rooted in his belief in relational theology.
Pastor Brown has a vision for winning lost souls for Jesus Christ. He has committed Greater Community to be a ministry where every man, woman, boy and girl will have repeated opportunities to hear, feel, see and touch the gospel of Jesus Christ. With an emphasis on solid praise, worship, and biblical teaching, he is making the word of God – real, relevant and relational in the life of believers and non-church goers alike.
Pastor Brown’s many years of experience as the Director of Communications to the Mayor of Buffalo served him well in developing a comprehensive vision that addresses the diverse needs of the people he is committed to serve. As the former pastor of Pentecostal Temple C.O.G.I.C. – Buffalo; he successfully established the ministry as a beacon of hope to countless individuals and families served by the church. A proven leader with a vibrant personality, Pastor Brown motivates ministries and collaborates with community stakeholders to achieve benefit for others. He has proven his exceptional skills as a leader through the implementation and administration of strategic ministry and community initiatives.
The consummate educator, Pastor Brown has established the Kingdom Advantage Training Academy (KATA). It is a comprehensive school of ministry for the lay/clergy leadership and staff of GCC. Pastor Brown is the proud father of three beautiful and accomplished young ladies.
