Michael Darnell Joyner was born March 13, 1965 to Samuel and Blanche Joyner in Nashville, Tennessee. A graduate of Hillwood High School, Pastor Joyner received an Associate’s of Arts and a Four-Year Bible Degree from Emmanuel Bible College in Nashville, Tennessee. Pastor Joyner continued his post-secondary education at Holy Trinity Theological Seminary in St. Petersburg, Florida earning a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Christian Education. Determined to continue his education, Pastor Joyner received a Master’s Degree in Theology from United Theological Seminary of Dayton, Ohio in 2011. With a craving for more knowledge of God’s word, Pastor Joyner completed his Doctoral Degree in Theology from Emmanuel Theological Seminary in 2013. He currently assumes the role of Professor Dr. Joyner at Emmanuel Theological Seminary.

 

Pastor Joyner served as a deacon at St. Eli United Primitive Baptist Church. Accepting his call to the ministry in 1991at Gethsemane Missionary Baptist Church, on November 24, 1991 he preached his first sermon titled, “Living in Disturbed Times”, reference text was 2Timothy 4:1-5 and he was ordained on December 17, 1992. Pastor Joyner served as Pastor for Middleton First Baptist Church in Franklin, Kentucky from February 1997 to November 1997.
