Reverend Doctor Charles A. Harper III, 2004 – Present is a native of Atlanta, Georgia. He was born to the late Charles A. Harper, Jr. and Bobbie Troutman Harper. He was educated at Oglethorpe Elementary and graduated with honors from Booker T. Washington High School in 1970. He attended Morehouse College from 1970 until 1973. In June 1973, he began a career with the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority, which ended May 31, 2002, when he retired as General Superintendent of Rail Transportation. In 1984, he founded Charles A. Harper III Realty (now Mormen Realty & Development Corporation), a full service Real Estate Company, serving the states of Georgia and Florida and is the Principle Broker.

In 1992, he graduated with honors with an Associate of Science degree in Education and an Associate of Arts degree in Philosophy from Atlanta Metropolitan College. In 1994, he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Religious Studies from Georgia State University. In 1997, he graduated with honors with a Master of Divinity degree from the Morehouse School of Religion at the I.T.C. In May 2004, he graduated with honors, receiving the degree Doctor of Ministry from the Morehouse School of Religion at the I.T.C. One week after graduation, on May 15, 2004, he was called to lead the historic Reed Street – Paradise Missionary Baptist Church in Atlanta, Georgia.

He currently serves as the Moderator of the Mount Calvary Missionary and Educational Baptist Association; serves on the Boards of The Historic South-view Preservation Foundation and Community Concerns, Inc.; he is a member of Concerned Black Clergy, Inc. and Atlanta Baptist Ministers Union. His twelve years as Pastor of Paradise have yielded many accomplishments: The establishment of the Paradise Outreach Program, which serves the residents of Northwest Atlanta; numerous business and ministry partnerships that greatly enhance the quality of life in the Kingdom of God; the addition of the 21st Century Group Ministry to mentor and prepare new generations of leaders for future leadership roles.

His greatest accomplishment in life is, “I led my family to Christ”. He is married to Evelyn Hines Harper and they are the parents of two children, Charles A. Harper IV (Leslie) and Erin A. Harper, PhD (Benny Walk). However, their pride and joy is their grandsons, Charles A. Harper V; Christopher Heath II, and Bennie Harper Walk.
