Rev. Charles R. Meile, Jr. received an Associates of Arts Degree in Theology and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Religious Studies from the Virginia Seminary and College. He received his Masters of Divinity Degree from the same institution. He was awarded an Honorary Doctor of Divinity Degree from the Maryland Baptist Theological Seminary. Rev. Meile received a diploma in Biblical Counseling from the Christian Counseling and Educational Foundation and training in Clinical Pastoral Education at Penn State’s Milton S. Hershey Medical Center. Additionally, he received a Doctor of Ministry Degree from Andersonville Baptist Seminary.

Rev. Meile began his professional ministry as an Associate Minister for the Olivet Baptist Church in Baltimore, Maryland. He was especially involved in a teaching capacity with an emphasis in Sunday School, Bible Study, and New Member Classes. In 1986, Rev. Meile became the Senior Pastor of the New Mount Carmel Baptist Church in Baltimore, Maryland. He also served as an adjunct faculty member to Bachelor Degree students at the Maryland Baptist School of Religion.

Our Lord led Rev. Meile to Harrisburg, Pennsylvania in 1989 as the Senior Pastor of The Greater Zion Missionary Baptist Church. Other ministry related responsibilities have included serving nine years as a Chaplain at the Harrisburg State Hospital, has served on the Nursing Advisory Board at Harrisburg Area Community College and is a member of various Baptist Associations on regional, state and national levels. Rev. Meile served for five years as Coordinator of Contract Chaplaincy for the Pennsylvania Council of Churches, coordinating 70 chaplains, serving 30 mental health, mental retardation, and youth development centers. He also served as a Field Supervisor of seminary students attending Lancaster Theological Seminary and Washington Bible College. Additionally, Rev. Meile was recognized in the National Directory of Who’s Who in Executives and Professionals.

Rev. Meile is married to Lillian, who he refers to as his “God-Sent Angel”. Lillian has provided continued support and sustenance during his ministry. Lillian is pursuing a degree in psychology at Penn State University and desires to become a Christian counselor.

In summary, Rev. Meile has more than 30 years experience in ministry. His leadership, communication, counseling and motivational skills have all been a credit to his career. He has received certificates of achievement and recognition from the congregations and communities he has served.
