Rev. Kenneth Bruce Martin, a native of Monroe, Louisiana, was born November 11, 1945, to the late Rev. Benjamin F. Martin and Mrs. Hilda Martin.

Rev. Martin obtained his primary and secondary education within the public schools of Monroe, Louisiana. In 1963, after completing high school, he entered Morehouse College. His focus and field of study was Business Administration and Economics. While attending Morehouse, he was active in the Student Government and was Chief Justice of the Student Court. After graduation, Rev. Martin secured employment with the Allstate Insurance Company and was the Customer Service Manager and Account Agent for 13 years.

After accepting the call of Jesus Christ to the Ministry of Christianity in October of 1979, Rev. Martin was licensed by Dr. Roswell F. Jackson and the Mount Calvary Baptist Church family of Atlanta, Georgia.

In 1981, Rev. Martin entered Carver Bible College in Atlanta and majored in Theology. His dedicated work and intellect proved rewarding for he graduated cum laude in 1983 with a Bachelor of Theology Degree. He became a teacher at the Carver Bible Institute. Rev. Martin’s official pastoral assignments include the Shoal Creek Baptist Church of Locust Grove, Georgia and the Antioch Missionary Baptist Church (April 1986) of Augusta, Georgia. In May of 1995, he received his Doctorate of Divinity from the United Theological Seminary in Monroe, Louisiana.

Presently, under Rev. Martin’s excellent leadership, Antioch is experiencing a holistic ministry that is spirit-filled. More than 30 ministries have been established and/or reorganized under his spiritual guidance. These include Health Care, Kitchen, TAG (Touching All Generations Women’s Ministry), FLY (Faith-Led Youth), CLIC (Children Living In Christ), MAC (Men of Antioch Church), Transportation, ASK (Antioch Senior Kare), Food Pantry, Athletic, Tape, Radio, and ETF (Evangelistic Task Force). Also under Rev. Martin’s guidance work is done with Habitat For Humanity.

Under Rev. Martin’s leadership Antioch has grown spiritually (through meaningful worship and increased love and fellowship). Rev. Martin is extensively involved in local, state, national, and international activities; and he organized and is President of Antioch Ministries, Incorporated (AMI). Presently, this ministry has an active revitalization program that has purchased more than 85 properties for development, and has restored and renovated over 4o multi-family properties.

Apart from actively participating in civic and religious activities in the City of Augusta and the State of Georgia, Rev. Martin is former president of the Baptist Ministers Conference of Augusta, and was appointed Vice Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Augusta Housing Authority. Rev. Martin was also nominated to the National Black Ministers Council, a distinguished honor for which he is humbly grateful.

Rev. Martin is currently President of the General Missionary Baptist Convention of Georgia, Inc. and serves on the Executive Board. He is the former Director of the Ministers Division of the State Congress of Christian Education. Rev. Martin continually strives for a better church and community through Christ Jesus. This is evident through the boundless energy he displays, and his enthusiasm for the growth and productivity of Antioch Baptist Church, and for all of mankind everywhere.

Rev. Martin is married to Mrs. Iris Lewis Martin, and sharing in their joy are their three lovely daughters: Gweneth, Suzanne, and Renee; a son-in law, Marc Hayes, Sr.; two granddaughters: Jordan and Morgan; and two grandsons: Marc, Jr. and Obadiah.
