Gibson, Sr. He left Greater Temple in 1975 to assume the position of pastor of the Community Primitive Baptist Church and returned to Greater Temple in 1994 as senior pastor following the death of his father.

Pastor Gibson is a powerful preacher of the Gospel and a strong biblical scholar. As he works in God’s vineyard, he is guided by II Timothy 2:15. He is a lifelong student of God’s word and is careful to “rightly divide the word of truth”.  He believes that through the preaching and teaching of the Word of God, this world can be converted into the kingdom of God; and that we, as Christians are called to be God’s witnesses.

Pastor Gibson was called into ministry in 1971. He undertook undergraduate work at Lawrence University in Appleton, Wisconsin and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from The University of Alabama at Birmingham. In 1989, He received a Master of Divinity Degree from the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. He earned a Doctor of Ministry Degree from the United Theological Seminary in Dayton Ohio in 2016.
