Rev. James P. Thompson Jr., Pastor:
Pastor J. P. Thompson Jr. is the chosen successor to Sr. Pastor N. L. Robinson. Rev. Thompson is married to Sis. Lalita Thompson and they currently live in Mansfield, Texas and have four children, Kanita, Jessica, James III, and Megan.
Rev. Thompson was born in Memphis, Tennessee. He joined the Mount Olive Baptist Church in 1984 as a minister. In 1986, Rev. Thompson was selected to be the Youth Pastor and served in that capacity until 1994.
Rev. Thompson was elected to serve as Pastor of the Mount Olive Baptist Church by the Sr. Pastor and the church membership in 1994.
Rev. Thompson graduated from the University of the District of Columbia. He also attended the Southern Bible Institute and Dallas Theological Seminary. He graduated from the Truett School of Theology at Baylor University, where he received his Masters of Theological Studies. He received an Honorary Doctorate of Humanities from Southern Bible Institute where he currently serves as Chairman of the Board.
