“For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord”. (Romans 8:38 KJV)

Born to Mr. & Mrs. James and Sandye Spann in Bronx, New York, Rev. Phillip R. A. Spann moved to Orangeburg, South Carolina at an early age, where he was raised and educated in the public school system. He is a 1997 graduate of Orangeburg Wilkerson High School and a 2001 graduate of South Carolina State University where he obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice.

Rev. Spann began to feel the anointing of God on his life upon moving to Atlanta in 2003. He became an active mentor and counselor with the Atlanta Public School System. With a stern conviction to do God’s will, he submitted to the providential authority of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Thereafter, he enrolled at Luther Rice Seminary where he received a Masters of Arts Degree in Ministry in 2007. He then became a community liaison. In that role, he engaged himself in mission work, raised community awareness, taught and designed curriculum for youth that would empower, equip and enable them to live transformative lives for Christ. He has been instrumental in overseeing and developing inner city evangelism and prayer outreach ministries that have impacted the Metropolitan Atlanta Area for the greater good of the Kingdom of God.

In 2010, Rev. Spann began attending Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church. Here he was licensed in 2010 and later ordained to preach on May 1, 2011, under the pastorate of Rev. James H. Sims, Jr. At Shiloh he served as Associate Minister of Youth and Young Adults from 2010 – 2015 until he was called as Pastor on February 8, 2015. During his tenure as Associate Minister, he also served as Worship Leader, conducted workshops, taught Bible Study, served in the Prison Outreach Ministry and ministered to the needs of the members.

Since being called as Senior Pastor at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, Rev. Spann’s goal has been to fulfill God’s purpose, submit to God’s will and serve God’s people. Pastor Spann currently serves as 1st Vice Moderator of the Atlanta Missionary Baptist Association. A servant at heart, Pastor Spann believes that the power of the gospel is able to save from the gutter most to the uttermost. With humility and authenticity, Rev. Spann has been gifted to proclaim and explain the word of God in a way that is both inspirational and informational. His engaging and exegetical style of preaching transforms hearts and lives. His sermons and life are examples of God’s amazing grace and everlasting mercy.

Rev. Spann’s journey to ministry is a true testament of what God can and will do in the life of a submitted vessel. As Rev. Spann continues to live out God’s plan for his life, he considers himself an instrument of grace, humbly constrained by the great Gospel of Jesus Christ, compelled to proclaim Christ’s message of mercy to sinners. With God’s help, his dynamic vision and uncompromised commitment, he continues to extend the ministry of Jesus Christ through Evangelizing the Doomed, Empowering the Disciple and Exalting the Divine.
