Rev. Dr. Eric Charles Mallette


Reverend Dr. Eric Charles Mallette was licensed in 1979 and ordained in the Gospel Ministry in 1989 by the late Reverend Dr. E. Mitchell Mallette.  He was appointed as Adjunct Pastor from 1989 to 1996.  Upon the recommendation of Pastor E. Mitchell Mallette and the Board of Deacons – the Reverend Dr. Eric Charles Mallette was unanimously elected Co-Pastor of the Greater Second Baptist Church by the church body at its Annual Meeting in June of 1996.  In June of 1998, his father, the Reverend Dr. E. Mitchell Mallette was called home to receive his crown of glory and the Reverend Dr. Eric Charles Mallette became the fifth Pastor of the Greater Second Baptist Church on June 26, 1998.

 

Reverend Mallette is a graduate of the New York Theological Seminary Eastern Baptist School of Religion in Christian Ministry and furthered his education at Adelphi University, majoring in Psychology.  Later, he received his Honorary Doctorate Degree from the National Theological Seminary – University of St. Louis Doctorate of Divinity. 

 

Reverend Mallette served four years in the United States Marine Corps.  He was employed at the United States State Department as a Diplomatic Officer and then promoted to Executive Protection Agent.  During this time, Reverend Mallette was a recipient of many military and State Department awards.  Reverend Mallette was inducted as a prestigious “Empire Who’s Who” lifetime member. 

 

Reverend Mallette is an Executive to Hempstead Town Supervisor, appointed as a Board Member to Town of Hempstead Industrial Development Agency (IDA), served as an Executive Assistant to the Town of Hempstead Town Board and was a Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Liberty Park Housing Authority.  Reverend Mallette is a vital contributor to the community and made history as being the first African American Chaplain in the Incorporated Village of Freeport Police and Fire Departments.  He also serves on the Village of Freeport Police Block Grant Committee, Board of Ethics and Vice Chairman of the Commission on Human Relations Committee. 

 

Reverend Mallette is active in the Empire Baptist Missionary Convention and currently serves as Vice President of Area #9, covering all of Nassau and Suffolk Counties.  He has also held the position of President of the Young Ministers Division under the President, Reverend Dr. Robert W. Dixon.  He was appointed from 1998 to 1999 to serve on the Board of Education for National Baptist Convention U.S.A.  As member of the Eastern Baptist Association of New York Incorporated, the Reverend Dr. Eric Charles Mallette currently serves as Chief-of-Staff, formerly served as the Assistant Recording Secretary, Chairman of the Board of Trustees and was formerly Vice Moderator for Nassau County, Eastern Baptist Association.

 

Reverend Dr. Eric Charles Mallette, by unanimous vote of the entire membership of the Greater Second Baptist Church was bestowed the title of Lifetime Pastor on March 4, 2001.  Reverend Mallette has begun several new ministries and existing ministries have been fortified.  He has tremendous love for his work and his commitment to the Lord is exemplified by his teachings and actions.  He is a devoted, dedicated pastor who loves his church and congregation.
