Reverend Khalfani Drummer, Esq.
Pastor Khalfani Drummer is a native Californian. His Christian formation began in the Little Zion Baptist Church of San Francisco, California. He was ordained a Deacon by the New Providence Baptist Church of San Francisco in 1987. After moving to Philadelphia to practice law, he acknowledged his call to preach; he was licensed in 1989 and ordained in 1991 at the First Baptist Church of Paschall. A year later, he was called by that church to become its 5th pastor and served there for 10 years.
In the spring of 2003, he accepted the call to become the 6th pastor of the Gethsemane Baptist Church of Washington, DC.
Pastor Drummer is an alumni of City College of San Francisco; the University of California at Berkeley; Howard University School of Law; the Lutheran Theological Seminary of Philadelphia; and Harvard School of Divinity in Cambridge, Massachusetts. In 2012 he presented a paper on Religion, Nuclear Weapons and Fundamentalism at the Oxford Round Table in the United Kingdom.
He has taught courses in Church and Law at seminaries, denominational conferences conventions, and local churches.
Pastor Drummer is married to the former Deborah V. Campbell and they are the proud parents of their two sons: Malachi and Caleb.
